I had a similar experience, except I did call. I felt really stupid, because I didn’t know what to say, so I just said I was thinking of her and wanted her to know that we’d missed her youth group, but I understood she was very busy, and just let her know she hadn’t been forgotten. After an awkward silence, I said, “OK … well … g’bye …” and hung up, thinking, “Well that was dumb.” Later she told me that that night she had been alone in the house, sitting on her bed with a bottle of pills, ready to take them all. After I called, she put them away and did her homework.
So yes, when that Still, Small Voice speaks to you, obey, even if you don’t know why! (Unless of course it’s telling you to do something unbiblical – wrong voice!)
