When I moved to Kansas , I identified a local church to be part of. They were moving to a new location and I volunteered to help.
Six to seven months into the church , I was standing with other people casually in a discussion . I had the urge to use a bathroom and I moved towards one . Seconds later I felt someone had steeped out and was watching me . I turned and saw this white young man had also stepped out to watch me. A slight anger washed over me but I shook it off. . I thought about it later and wondered : even in the church.
The church is at least 98% percent white. I and my family remain part of the church but sometimes it feels like a blind man in a home built for people that can see
I am sorry that it is still this way in America. I am sorry you have to face this on a daily basis…something my son will experience but I can never truly understand. May the Good Lord keep you and your family safe , encouraged, and strong. Amen
